The ABU 505 Golden Jubilee 1962-2012 is the definitive reference book. It  was written, financed, designed & printed by James Partridge to celebrate fifty years of the ABU 505 closed-face fishing reel. A copy exists in the ABU museum. Proof read by Wayne Real and published by Jim's Reel Shop.

The book rapidly sold out and unfortunately the printers went out of business, so we could not have more issues printed to cover the demand!

The Abu 505 Golden Jubilee book includes full colour images of all the different versions, along with the packaging they came in, when new. The Golden Jubilee book has period advertisements, schematic diagrams along with internal and external images of the mechanical workings and differences between all the different versions. The 505 was the first of the range of Swedish Abu closed-face spinning reels.

Later closed-face reels include the 501, 503, 506, 506 Match, 507, 508 and 520. This is a seventy page, perfect bound, limited edition book. It was originally printed in Frome England by Butler & Tanner. Shipped world-wide. The ABU 505 was the first of the Swedish closed-face reels. Limited edition publication of just 100 copies. The 505 Golden Jubilee book has seventy pages with full colour images of all the different 505 variants along with the packaging that they came with when brand new.
